The world of blogging has changed a great deal since I started my first blog back in high school. It used to be that all you had to do was post to your blog on whatever platform you chose (at the time I was on Blogspot) and other people in the community found you! Now, you need stellar images, great photography, and the ability to promote yourself without being too spammy. As much as I would love to be able to sit on my computer for hours, life with a baby doesn’t always allow that, so here are the apps that I find essential to my blogging experience.
1. WordPress
As I said above, I do a lot of my blog process on my phone. I draft 90% of my posts on my phone and finalize them on my computer later. The WordPress app makes it easy to upload media, draft posts, schedule, check stats and answer comments quickly!
2. Buffer
Scheduling posts for Twitter and Facebook is the easiest way to promote yourself without living on social media. It also makes it that you can spread out your promotion posts while still posting live throughout the day. It is honestly a life saver for me!
3. VSCO
I mostly used the VSCO app to improve the brightness and colour of my pictures for Instagram, but it also does great for blog pictures. If you are trying to take pictures and the light isn’t quite right, VSCO is the app you need!
4. Canva
Canva is absolutely amazing for making blog graphics, and I’ve actually only recently started using the app. It is a very multi-functional app, you can make posts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and blog graphics – and it is so easy to use!
5. Twitter
Twitter is the app where I get the most traffic and engagement to my blog from, and I love the blogging community that I have found since becoming more active. Twitter is a great place to find fellow bloggers, read great posts, get tips and tricks from experienced bloggers and find people who are similar to you! I have connected with a group of mums that have babies that are similar in age to Baby G and it’s almost as if they are growing up together! I love it!
What apps are essential to YOU? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
Amanda, xo.

Agreed! But also Pinterest! I found that by joining group boards & pinning more, my blog views are going up more every month!

I should definitely get on that! My goal for the next few weeks is to make Pinterest friendly images for my posts! After that I’ll find some group boards to join! Thanks for your input 😘

You’re welcome! It’s time consuming on Canva to go back to old posts but 100% worth it!

I’ve long been a fan of Canva not just for Blog stuff but for my day job too. It really is a fantastic tool.
