It’s so close to Christmas! Who else is excited!?! I know I am! I will be celebrating my son’s first Christmas! While he won’t be old enough to remember much (he’ll be 3 months old), we’re pretty excited none the less! I decided to come up with a gift guide for some simple gifts to get the new mom is your life! You may be at a loss because she doesn’t seem to do much anymore because her whole life now seems to revolve around the baby (and trust me, it does!).
1. A travel mug
Remember in a previous post when I said one thing about motherhood is that there will always be cold tea? That’s because babies seem to have a sixth sense about when you pour yourself a hot beverage! Any new mom would greatly appreciate something to keep her tea or coffee warm while she soothes, feeds and changes her newborn.
I personally love mugs like THIS!
2. New slippers
Maybe she took her favourite pair to the hospital and wrecked them, or maybe she’s just worn them out from wearing them all the time in the house. Try getting her a pair that are comfy, but will also support her feet while she’s walking around soothing her baby or rushing around trying to get some food in her or housework done while baby naps!
3. A funny shirt/sweater
Mom hair, don’t care – amiright?!?! Some days it’s a struggle to feed yourself, let alone make it into the shower, I personally have actually done my hair .. maybe 5 times since my son was born. Make her laugh with a shirt that expresses exactly who she is in this moment!
4. Bite sized snacks!
Seriously, who knew it was so hard to find time to eat!? It never seemed to be an issue before! Treat your mom-friend to snacks that may save her on the rough days! Think granola bars, cookies, trail mix – anything that she can stash in her pantry and eat when she needs it!
5. Clay Face Mask
When you become a mom, suddenly your self-care routine takes a back seat to your child’s care, which means your skin might need some serious TLC when you find the time. Treat your mom-friend to a clay mask treatment that she can do during nap time or after baby’s gone to bed, and feel rejuvenated, regardless of what the day threw at her!
What would YOU suggest as a gift for a new mom this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
