12 Days of Christmas 2018

DIY Wrapping Paper (Toddler Style)

Hello hello hello! We are in the home stretch of my 12 days of Christmas series, I hope you’ve enjoyed it! Seeing most of our gifts have been gifted now, I’m going to show you how we did our wrapping paper this year!

So we always spend a bunch of money on wrapping paper, yet it always goes straight into the garbage (wrapping paper is not recyclable in a lot of places), so this year we decided to do our own wrapping paper! Here were our main reasons:

1. Regular wrapping paper is not recyclable

2. Regular wrapping paper is overpriced

3. Neither of us can wrap all that well

4. G paints A LOT

Here’s what we used:

– Easel Board Paper

Washable paint

– An eager to paint toddler

So as I said, G paints a lot! He loves it, and based on the fact that we are currently in a rental with a lot of light coloured carpet, he does all of his painting in the bathtub!

So I set him up in a disposable diaper (we cloth majority of the time), tape some paper up and squirt some paint in the tub and let him have at it! He loves it!

You can use any craft supplies you want, or are age appropriate for your child! The possibilities are endless!

So for Christmas, dig into your child’s craft supplies and don’t spend part of your Christmas budget on wrapping paper, and give your loved ones one of a kind wrapped gifts that they will treasure! If they are careful unwrapping, they can keep the paper as artwork from your child!

Have you ever DIY’d your wrapping paper? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,
