Hello everyone! It’s been a bit since I’ve posted anything on my blog! How have you all been? I’ll have more posts and updates coming soon!
I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Britt at Alternatively Speaking (thank you!) and I’ve decided to make it the kick-off to my return to blogging! I hope to return to affiliate blogging and I have some GREAT ideas coming up! For now, let’s stick to the task at hand!
The Sunshine Blogger Award
The Sunshine Blogger Award is given by bloggers to fellow bloggers who inspire positivity and creativity in the blogging community. While this is all about fun and celebration, there are a few rules that you are asked to keep in mind:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog to this post.
- Answer the 11 questions asked by your nominator.
- Nominate 11 bloggers.
- Ask them 11 questions, different to the ones you’ve answered.
- List the rules.
- Display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on our post and blog site.
#1 – If you had the opportunity to relocate to the place of your favourite movie or television show (regardless of how realistic or unrealistic it may be) where would you live?
Stars Hollow! Gilmore Girls is my ALL-TIME favourite show! If I could have breakfast at Luke’s and take classes with Miss Patty my life would be PERFECT.
#2 – If you were told you could only drink one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tea. Hands down. My Scottish blood is very prevalent in my tastes in drinks!
#3 – How would you describe our perfect day?
Getting a good long sleep, waking up to bacon and eggs for breakfast, heading out for a hike with my family, come home and sit by the fire pit and watch the stars until bedtime ❤
#4 – What is your favourite thing about your blog?
While I’ve slacked on the regular posting, I love how I finally have been able to be confident in my blog and share it with EVERYONE! Past blogs that I ran I only shared with strangers, and while it was weird to have people come up to me and tell me they read my latest post, I am still proud of the fact that I don’t hide it.
#5 – What would be your dream vacation?
The idea of my dream vacation changes as my life changes. At one point, it would have been going to Japan, immersing myself in Harajuku culture, at other points it would have been heading to Russia or Greece. Lately, my dream vacations all revolve around Baby G, we are currently saving for a Walt Disney World vacation (which I had done as a child) and it’s really the only vacation I can think of!
#6 – If I handed you a million dollars today and said it was yours BUT you had to spend it in 30 minutes or I take it back, how would you spend it?
I would pay off my house and car, then book the most intense all-inclusive vacation and do all of the “extra” stuff that normal people can’t afford!
#7 – How would you describe your style?
Mom-style! (lol) most days I’m in leggings with messy buns and bags under my eyes. When I’m inspired to put some effort in I would say my style is more “preppy” than anything. I like to wear cute dresses and button up shirts. I just have the new obstacle of my new mom hips don’t fit my pre-pregnancy clothes the way they used to, so I am going to start revamping my wardrobe!
#8 – Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, what do you have? If not, is there anything you would like to get?
I have two tattoos – “The time to hesitate is through” on my left inner bicep and I have claw marks revealing cheetah spots on my ribs. I have plans for more, but I’m sitting on the ideas and if they stay in my mind, I’ll get them at another date. I’d like to get something for Baby G, but I’d like to get something that could be added to for any other kids. As for piercings, I don’t currently wear any of them (#momlife) but I have had eyebrow, two on each lobe and my right cartilage done 🙂
#9 – Who is your greatest role model in life, and why?
My Mum, she’s the one who never had a scale in our house, taught us to not focus on the numbers or the opinions of others and I strive to be the same for Baby G!
#10 – How do you pull yourself out of a rut when you’re struggling with writer’s block?
I get nominated in blog tags :P, they seem to line up nicely while I’m in a rut!
#11 – What is your all-time favourite book, and why?
Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery. I have read this book HUNDREDS of times, Anne Shirley has many of the qualities I always hoped to have: ambition, confidence, imagination and loyalty. She also has a few that I didn’t want: impulsiveness, stubbornness, and oversensitiveness. I loved that Montgomery gave us a character who was flawed but still likable. Gilbert Blythe is the perfect leading man and if I had to be an orphan, I’d want to be adopted by the Cuthberts!
I’m going to nominate:
